Carla's not-so-amazing guide to the Istana Woodneuk

Okay, I kinda lied. This isn't really a guide. More like my first visit to Istana Woodneuk (woops).

Hey guys! I just want to share my first experience visiting the beautiful Istana Woodneuk because it was a real eye-opener for me, like wow I have inevitably fallen inlove with it.

Firstly, I'd like to give credits to this article for helping my friends & I find the mansion easily. We would've been super lost if it weren't for this so, thank god!! Honestly, the 'trek' there wasn't as hard as i was expecting because it was quite enjoyable for me hehe (although i recommend everyone to wear long pants) (trust me on this) (i'm super thankful i did).

I didn't have enough time to capture the true beauty within the mansion because we were running short on time & it was getting pretty late. We didn't want to stay there till dark cos we were afraid to get lost inside the woods.

Now before anyone starts judging the following photos, I'd like to announce that I feel horrifically embarrassed about my shallow nature. dfghjsfiujhdfrejkldsljfdj. I ended up taking more photos of myself rather than the place itself oh god I'm so sorry. I'll come back to Istana Woodneuk again in the near future and finally soak up all the charm & elegance the place has. I mean  like, I was already super awed by the interior design of the mansion because I have never been in a house as big as that, and also because that place is a living legend like woah it's still standing despite the fire & the bombing that happened in the past (oh my gosh i love history) (Istana Woodneuk is so rich in history) (y'all can read more about it here

okay i'm done talking, enjoy the pictures yo

i looked like a stripper sloth
this looks like a virgin sacrificial ceremony for satan oh gosh

why are there car seats inside the house..?? :o
the place looks super grand, almost like a palace?? then again, this house belongs to the Sultan of Johor, i think)
i'm not too sure myself

this is known as "the devil's chair" (well that's what people on instagram call it) and there was like a chair in the middle of this graffiti art like wow how convenient....................
it looked really cool and i didn't know how to pose for the camera so um.. yeah..
me whining about not knowing what to do
this is like the most decent looking one..

This is Nadirah aka Nad, Diyanah's 16 yrs old cousin! It was my first time meeting her that day and i'm thankful that there wasn't any awkwardness AT ALL. This is mostly because she's damn cute and friendly hehehe
she's damn tall and skinny fml sikit goals
nothing much to see here....... carry on ha ha ha.
why are my candids always so ugly :')

That's pretty much all the photos we took! (jk, there were a lot more but they're all very repetitive so i didn't bother posting them hehe)

I'd like to thank Diyanah for suggesting this little adventure in the first place! It was a really fun experience, especially with such a great company (I got to meet Nad, meet Diy after gazillion years, and get to bring Ben along. syiok or what sia. i'm livin da life guys). I can't wait for more adventures like this to come!!!

Oh and like I said earlier, I'll go back to Istana Woodneuk again soon and take more photos of the place itself because right now, I'm not doing it enough justice (and it deserves more recognition) as it is truly a rare beauty that one can find in Singapore, and It's such a privilege for me to be able to step foot inside :')

Before I end this blogpost, let me just attach a photo i found on google of the Istana Woodneuk before the entire roof collapsed because it's so fascinating *~*

I'm not sure when this photo was taken but wow, this place must've been
super grand when it was still in use!!

Okay yes that's it for now hehe goodbye friends! :)
*fml why do i sound so formal throughout this entire blogpost*
