In a fast-paced society like Singapore, it has become rare to find a diner with an authentic retro feel. And no, I'm not talking about all those cafes with a mere vintage set-up or vintage props that don't even work.
Have you ever wanted to take a short break from all the work, the studying, & generally all the stress you face in your daily life? Have you ever wanted to go back in time, or at least, feel like you're in a completely different timezone? Have you ever wanted to just chill out & dine in a harmonious, no-stress zone place? Kombi Rocks might just be the place for you!
The Beatles fans, Kombi vans enthusiasts & vintage lovers, listen up.
I just found my sanctuary here in Singapore, and so could you.
I couldn't resist visiting Kombi Rocks as soon as I found out about it. Well, how can I? I was inevitably hooked on its rustic charm.
Here are the photos I managed to take during my first visit..

Kombi Rocks diner serves Asian Cuisines like Chinese, Thai & Singaporean, but I'm not sure if this place is Halal though. Apart from all the dishes they serve, they also have a wide range of drinks like wine, beer, & other bar snacks, and they're pretty affordable too! Nothing superbly expensive, so don't worry! The plate of sambal fried rice I ate cost about $8-$9, and the serving portion was decent as well.
The staff were really friendly & approachable too! They weren't the typical arrogant-looking staff one would often find in a cool looking cafe. Everything was perfect. The ambience was on point, everything was so chill, I felt like staying there forever.
We took our time eating & drinking there because like I said earlier, it was the perfect place to just hang out. We stayed there for like 2.5hrs or so :p We went there yesterday (Monday), and there were barely any customers at the time we came so thank god we weren't being too much of a burden there!!
So after dining in, we took more photos of the vintage vehicles that were parked outside the diner. Do you know that these vehicles are in perfectly working condition and are available for rent?? WELL NOW YOU DO. Omg it's super cool like wow I'd love to rent one for my future wedding hohoho (am I thinking too far? woops) I've never been a car enthusiast like some people but damn, I do love mi some vintage cars like how often do you see a Kombi Van/Beetle/Vintage ferrari roaming the streets of Singapore?! These vehicles are freaking legendary (i only get to see them on google tbh) and I was in complete awe when i got to see them with my own eyes, better yet touch them, or even sit inside them!! (the vehicles parked outside Kombi Rocks weren't locked, so i guess it was okay for visitors to take a picture in them)

I honestly recommend everyone to check this place out because Kombi Rocks. Yep. That's a valid-enough reason for anyone to check it out.
I fell head over heels for this one, not gonna lie. I can't wait to be back for more!!

"The times, they were a-changing. A man walked on the moon. Four boys from Liverpool told the world that all they needed was love. Dance floors rocked and rolled. Music became groovy. Hair got longer. For the first time, the cry for peace was louder than the sound of war. It was a “youthquake”, a musical revolution. And it took place in the back of a VW Kombi van." -Kombi Rocks
