my eyelashes fluttered open
i kicked a hard, unbreakable nothing
my body refused to cooperate with me
i fell back into my deep slumber
the noise started again
this time, much more vociferous.
my mind was fuzzy
the last remnants of a dream being chased away
by the realization that i was awake again.
i couldn't remember my dream
but i recall it nothing but harmonious.
with a mental sigh,
i chided myself for being such a rascal.
better than not waking up, i thought.
i had to fight against gravity to get up.
thank goodness,
for it was a prestigious battle i won.
for it was a prestigious battle i won.
0550
the first drop smacked my skin
i remembered what happened now,
it all seemed too crystal clear.
steam formed- spiralling into the air
disappearing into extinction
i stood deeply-rooted to the wet ground
voices blaring in my head
they said the same thing over and over again
how much clearer could they be?
my skin started scalding
the mellow beads morphed into little embers of blaze
(i'll continue whenever i feel like)
